“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
― Oscar Wilde
This quote is hands down my favourite, there is so much accuracy in these 15 words. People are so busy making a living they forget to actually live a life. This world is so spectacular that’s living in your home country all your life makes me think that you are wasting the most beautiful gift you have which is life. Travel is the one thing in this world on which spending makes you richer.
Everyone needs to travel solo because you start living life once you step out of your comfort zone. That’s shell that you create and live in can also be your own damnation. To futher put it into perspective, its like living at home, getting everything ordered to your doorstep, never seeing sunshine, nightfall, rain or snow. A lot of people look at it through a glass but are afraid to step out fearing the worst. That fear is the one thing holding you back. Go to a different country where no one knows you, you are literally nobody, then take that step out of your comfort zone because at that point you have nothing to lose.
Solo Travel helps you collect memories, tell great stories and gain experience. You discover yourself along the way. Nobody comes back from a solo trip as themselves. Imagine this all your life you have know the world through a book but this time instead to being the reader you are the protagonist. After you step out off your shell and take chances, you will create memories. These memories turn into great stories.
Traveling solo includes staying in hostel, you might think I misspelt the word hotel but no I didn’t. it might not be as luxurious as a hotel, but the luxuries of hotel materialism cannot compare to the experience of a hostel. You have a certain perspective about life, your friends back home share them too that makes it stagnant. But here you will be able to look through a different set of eyes and that might be refreshing. After meeting a ton of people, you might find yourself, it might sound odd right now but trust me. It is human nature to find the thought of traveling solo intimidating and terrifying, you might be scared of the lonliness associated with it but I encourage you to not think about it like that. Think about the sense of accomplishment you will feel, you will feel empowered, capable of anything this word throws you as a challenge. You will know your priorities, sometimes we are so caught up with everything else we forget to treat ourselves right. Travelling hits that reset button. Now that you have seen things from outside the looking glass you will realise that sunshine is bliss not something to fear.
There is no need to compromise, as a solo traveler, you can do what you want, when you want and you are forced by anyone to do anything you don’t want. Only your opinion matters, you will learn to listen to your gut and intuition. This is one of the most important things in the word, very often it is over shadowed by society that you tend to do what looks right instead of what feels right. This is why you need to travel alone.
